Set Up Static IP on a Cayman Router
Set Up Static IP on a Cayman Router ? ?Important: You must have Cayman firmware version 6.3 or higher in order to set up your static IP address.
NOTE: If you do not have the latest Cayman firmware (version 6.3 or higher), please go to http://www.netopia.com and download the latest version before attempting to set up your IP addresses. To check your firmware version, follow the steps below:
- Go to your router interface.
- NOTE: Refer to your router manual for instructions on how to get to your router interface.
- Select Monitor in the upper left corner of the screen.
- Select Overview. The firmware version displays.
To set up your static IP address, follow the instructions below:
- Verify that your router is connected.
- Type 192.168.1.254 in the address field of your browser.
- Type the router admin password in the New Password field.
- Type the same router admin password in the Confirm Password field.
- Click Submit. NOTE: The Admin Password screen allows access to the interface of the router.
- Type "admin" in the Username field.
- Type your personal password in the Password field.
- NOTE: This is the password entered on the previous screen. This password allows access to the router.
- Click Okay. The following screen displays.
- In the User Name field, type your new ISP username, which equals your username, then a "%" sign, then the word "static" such as "username%static".
- Enter your ISP password.
- Click Submit.
