As you know Yaesu over all did a great job on the slickVX-1/VX-5 micro ht's. But to be expected there were a few simple design flaws that slipped through the cracks. One that really bugged me was that cheap little strip of plastic they called a belt clip. There's no doubt this has detracted from the over all quality of these radio's. I know guys that tie strings to their belt loops in fear that the little radio will unknowingly slip off. These new clips have a firm, quality spring and two 90` bends at the tip for added security. Your radio won't come off unless you want it to. They work with all accessories including the quick charger and case. Kit uses the stock screw that came with your radio originally from Yaesu.
