How to Setup Outlook 2003 with Hosted Exchange
Setting Up Microsoft Outlook 2003 Exchange Requirements: Windows XP Service Pack 1 - Located on the Microsoft Windows Update Site - Download Here Microsoft Outlook 2003 - No Charge for Customers Order or Download Here Microsoft Hotfix (Q331320) - Download Here (Reboot your computer after you install this hotfix) Users who are not using Windows XP Click Here If you do not meet any of the above requirements, Click Here for alternate instructions. To automate email setup click on this link and launch the .exe file http://www2.dslextreme.com/downloads/outlook_config.zip Option 1: Automatic Instructions
- Open up your web browser and go to http://ems1.dslextreme.net/
- Login with your email address and password.
- Click on Exchange then Outlook Profile File
- Click on Download under the “PRF” image at the bottom.
- Click Open to install the Profile Configurator.
- Click on Yes.
7. You will be prompted for your User name and Password 8. Click OK
9. Enter your password again and you are done.
Option 2: Configure Microsoft Outlook 2003 Manually 1. Open up Start --> Control Panel and double-click on Mail
2. Click on Show Profiles
3. Click on Add and Enter DSLXNET as the Profile Name. Click OK
4. Click on Add a new e-mail account and select Next
5. Select Microsoft Exchange Server and click next.
6. Enter exvs01.ex.dslextreme.net as the Microsoft Exchange Server and enter username@domain.com. Do NOT click next, click on More Settings. Your computer may pause for 60 seconds and you may get an error saying 'The action could not completed' this is normal, click ok and cancel to continue.
7. Click on the tab labeled Security and change the Login network security to Password Authentication (NTLM)
8. Click on the tab labeled Connection and check the box that says Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP. Next click on Exchange Proxy Settings
9. Enter owa.dslextreme.net as the URL to connect to my proxy server for Exchange.
Under Proxy authentication settings, change the drop down select to Basic Authentication. Click OK --> OK --> Next --> Finish.
10. Check the box Always use this profile and set DSLXNET from the drop down list. Click OK. You are now ready to begin using Microsoft Outlook 2003.
