Standard T1 Service

Q: What is a T1?
T1 is a type of highspeed, reliable network connection.  Unlike DSL, where connection speeds vary based on line quality, a T1 line is crafted to deliver consistent reliable service.

Q: What speeds are avialable over a T1 line?
A basic T1 line provides a synchronous 1.5Mbps.  This means that unlike ADSL, a T1 user can transmit data as fast as they can receive it.  An addition, multiple T1 lines can be "Bonded" to provide speeds higher then 1.5Mbps.

Q: What equipment is required for a T1?
DSL Extreme leases the equipment neccesary to utilize your T1.  This includes a CSU/DSU device and pre-configured router.

Q: Why choose a T1 over DSL?
T1 service includes a Service Level Agreement that provides assurances unavailable with a DSL line. This includes a 99% Uptime Guarantee, 4 hour Mean Time to Restore and 110ms Roundtrip Latency.

Bonded T1 Service

Q: What is Bonded T1 Service?
Standard T1 service only reaches speeds of 1.5Mbps.  To achieve higher speeds, multiple T1 lines are bound together to provide greater speed.

Q: How many lines can be bonded?
DSL Extreme can bond anywhere from two to four T1s together providing synchronous speeds from 3 to 6Mbps.  If one line in the bonded group fails the remaining T1 lines will continue to provide service.

Q: What equipment is required for a Bonded T1?
DSL Extreme leases the equipment neccesary to utilize your Bonded T1.  This includes a CSU/DSU device and pre-configured router.
